Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is famous for its delicious food, such as the traditional Vietnamese noodle soup called Pho, Vietnamese shellfish called Oc, Vietnamese Spring Rolls and much more. Besides the traditional dishes, you also find loads of daring foods, such as fertilized duck eggs, deep-fried snake dishes, and fermented scorpion wine. (Luckily you don’t have to try them all!) And then we haven’t even started talking yet about the enormous amount of different restaurants you can find here. From Vietnamese to French, Thai, Italian, Japanese and much, much more!

Nosh Saigon thought the combination of all of these factors would be the perfect opportunity to organize a food week. During this week they will partner with Food and Beverage industry leaders to showcase Vietnam’s culinary professionals and business experts. Together they will share a common passion for food and organize a week of food events centered on collaboration between local chefs.

The first Food Week Saigon was organized November 2015. During this week the partnering restaurants offered special food week menu deals, but that wasn’t all! A number of cooking classes, tasting and supper clubs were organized, led by a cast of Vietnamese and International chefs. It was a great week in which everyone in HCMC was able to enjoy delicious food in a new and interesting way.
Luckily for residents and visitors to HCMC, NOSH Food Week Saigon 2017 will be organized from 24 to 28 April! Over 13 chefs and 4 home cooks will create 4 dinners {with wine paiting} at the Grain Cooking Studio. For more information be sure to follow their events page

In the meantime, if you want to explore the delicious food side of Vietnam, make sure to check out our Food Tours section on our website. We have an especially interesting tour for HCMC, the Saigon Food Tour after dark by Vespa, in which we combine the best of a night excursion and a food adventure for you. While whizzing around the city on the back of a vintage Vespa scooter, you’ll be driven around town to try a variety of food and drinks at local restaurants. Here you’ll sample some of HCMC’s best authentic street food. A great way to get to know the city, culture and food HCMC has to offer!
