Bangkok is the city of Angels, the city that is always busy and full of life, and the city where you can eat 24/7. Not only are there an infinite amount of beautiful restaurants here – from low budget to high end – but you can also find the best street food here.
Street food dates back centuries ago when most of the wares were sold from floating markets. When you’re visiting Bangkok today, you can find food throughout the city; you’ll be surprised on every corner of the street with something interesting. Chicken satay, Tom yum (salty, sweet, spicy and sour soup), Pad thai (stir-fried noodles with peanuts, green onions, bean sprouts and a choice of tofu, chicken or shrimp), Som Tam (green papaya salad), … we can go on and on, but the best way to get to know Bangkok’s street food is to explore it for yourself.
Not all the street food areas are created equally. Some are better than others, and like everyone, we have our favourite area too. Our top pick would most probably be Chinatown, or Yaowarat as it’s known in Thai. Yes, Thai food in the Chinese area of the city is a good idea. Once the sun sets, this is the place to be for a great night of food sampling. Here you’ll find only the best street food, and especially barbequed seafood is popular here. Don’t just stay on the main road, but also venture in the smaller soi’s (alleys), as here is where you’ll find the real gems!
We offer this amazing food tour around town where you’ll be able to have an amazing eating adventure. But that’s not all as you’ll drive around town in a tuk tuk and even stop at landmarks and temples. The food is obviously the best part of this trip, and we wouldn’t want you to miss the local favourite Kao Mun Kai, or even the city’s best Pad Thai. We’ll finish the evening in a bar with the most fantastic view in Bangkok! What’s not to love?
Just a tip for when you do hit the streets of Bangkok for an eating fest. Most of the stalls will be closed on Monday, as this is street cleaning day in the city. So make sure to plan your evening no another night!
