Flying in a hot air balloon is a truly unforgettable experience – flying over a beautiful landscape far above the ground, with the only sound you here is coming from the burners filling up the balloon, the occasional chatter from down below and the clicking of your camera.

We can’t think of a more impressive site, than seeing hot air balloons flying over Bagan, Myanmar. Unless of course, you’re flying in one of the balloons yourself! Just imagine the red balloons above the stark contrasting landscape, while you enjoy watching over the more than 3000 temples this land has to offer. There is probably no other experience that offers this exclusive mixture of exhilaration and tranquillity, as you drift gently across Bagan’s landscape.

With you will be able to join a sunrise balloon trip over Bagan, allowing you to enjoy spectacular views of the ancient kingdom of Bagan. This tour will give you the opportunity to enjoy Bagan from a bird’s-eye view, during the best time of the day.
You will be picked up from your hotel around 5:30 in the morning and brought to the departure ground of the balloons. The team – who are all qualified pilots and technicians – prepares the balloons, while you enjoy some refreshments, walk around and even make some photos of your very own balloon. Once the balloons are filled up, you’ll spend the next hour or so in the air. You’ll never know where the balloons will end up, as this all depends on the wind. This makes this balloon trip an even more unique experience, as they will never be the same.

Once you’re up in the sky you will have an amazing view, of which you can enjoy in peace and quiet – other than the odd blast of the burners overhead, you won’t hear anything else. During the flight, you are allowed to walk inside your compartment and make as many photos as you want. While watching down, you will not only enjoy the beautiful temples but will also have a small peak into people’s lives, as you’ll see kids playing in the fields, ladies selling items at the market, people preparing their food and even some other tourist enjoying the sunrise from one of the higher temples. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!

Please note that the ballooning season in Bagan is pretty short – it only runs from October to March. During this time of the year, the winds are calmer (max 20km/hr) and the air is cooler. However, like always when the weather is involved it is unpredictable and so it is possible that the flight will be cancelled last minute if the weather conditions are poor.
