Southern Cambodia

Kep and Kampot  are about 3 hours drive from Phnom Penh.
Kampot is located on the riverside, is rustic and charming, formerly a popular French resort. Main attraction is the cave temples.

Kep was a popular beach destination in the 30s. Now the beaches offer pleasant entertainment and Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay) is only half an hour by boat. In a few hours you can walk around the island.

If you want to find beautiful white sandy beaches, it is best to go to Sihanoukville. This is the main resort of Cambodia. Not a charming old town, but it offers tropical bays with blue water and lots of entertainment. Off the coast of Sihanoukville there are 20 pristine tropical paradise islands. The best are Southwestern beach on Koh Rong (2-3 hours sailing) and Sokha Beach and Otres Beach in Sihanoukville.

Koh Kong and Cardamon Mountains in the South West of Cambodia provide wilderness, rivers and waterfalls and is excellent for the adventurous tourist.
Koh Kong Island is located off the coast and is a tropical paradise. There is no regular transport to the island, but can be arranged in Koh Kong.
